ABOUT THE COLLEGE
Vidyodaya Arts and Commerce First Grade College was started in the year 1980 with a view to provide higher education to the students hailing from the rural and backward sections of the society. The college is run by Grama Vidyodaya Sangha®, T.Narasipur which was started by late Sri.M.C.Shivananda Sharma, a great visionary, a philanthropist , who himself had big thirst for knowledge. Today the Grama Vidyodaya Sangha is headed by his Holiness Padma Bhushana Dr.Sri.Sri.Shivakumara Swamiji of Sri Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkur as its President and Sri.K.P.Mahadevaswamy as its General Secretary. The College under the able guidance of this enlightened management is striving relentlessly for the cause of higher education providing conducive atmosphere for learning, creativity and all round development of the students

The College offers B.A and B.Com Courses with dedicated Staff and very good infrastructural facilities such as Well-Equipped Library, Computer Lab, English Language Lab, Spacious Class Rooms, Auditorium and Playground. The College provides ample opportunities for the all round development of students through NSS, Red- Cross and Literary forums and Clubs.
It also conducts computer Education and Spoken English Classes.
Free canteen facility is provided for the needy students.
The College comes under 2(F) and 12(B) of the UGC Act and has been Re-Accredited by NAAC at “B” level with 2.24 CGPA Score in 2011.
As far as the results are concerned, our College has been securing distinctive percentage of results in all the three Courses.

Welcome to Our College
Vidyodaya Arts & Commerce First Grade College, T.Narasipura, run by Grama Vidyodaya Sangha(R), founded by great visionary Late Sri Shivananda Sharma, is a pioneer Institution in higher education in Mysore district. It has been imparting quality education in Humanities and Commerce for the last 39 years to the aspiring rural youths, mainly economically backward and marginalized sections of the society. Ours is one of the best among the rural Undergraduate colleges in the jurisdiction of Mysore University with qualified and competent teaching faculty, adequate class rooms, well equipped library, computer and language laboratories, big auditorium and playground. Much importance is given for overall personality development through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities by various clubs in the College. One noteworthy point is that women students form majority of the strength in our College which has facilitated to contribute our mite for the cause of women education and empowerment, which is given much importance now–a-days. I would certainly say that our College provides conducive atmosphere for formative learning and development.
